Ireland and China have a close and friendly relationship which is growing all the time.  As Ambassador of Ireland to China, I am delighted at the progress that is being made and the contacts that continue to be developed, not only in the political and economic, but also in the education, cultural and human spheres. 

Irish universities and other educational institutions are an increasingly popular choice for those who seek a university education abroad.  Ireland has placed great importance on the development of our education system. 

I would like to see more Chinese people travelling to Ireland as business visitors and tourists. Our island nation is a place of lively cities, spectacular coastlines, green fields and hills and unspoilt natural landscapes.  

Ireland is also renowned for our people’s hospitality and a unique traditional culture of literature, music, song and dance. It is a thriving, modern European country with a unique appeal to international visitors.  I know that visitors from China will enjoy their time in Ireland.
